midwestern days

Even though I stopped freelancing 1.5 years ago I am still haunted from time to time by old freelance clients.  For the most part I don’t mind, it’s good to do a little extra work and catch up with the good people from my past.  But there is one client.  The one client that single-handedly drove me from freelancing.  The client that gave me panic attacks and sleepless nights and almost entirely ruined the summer of 2009.  And THIS client decides to email me once every 6 months to say something mean that generally ruins my day and today I’d had it.  She emailed again.  And it was mean.  And I adhered to her demand (that I remove her site from my portfolio - that I designed and it IS adorable but whatever).  In retaliation I set up this awesome faux-block on my email account rejecting any further emails from her (well hopefully it will seem that way) I am thinking of adding something along the lines of - if she needs to contact me “please use an intermediary as I wish to have no further contact with you”.  Maybe I’m being childish but she has been nothing but an asshole to me and I’ve been nothing but nice to her.  The only ‘mean’ thing I ever did to her was to stop working for her but once and a while you’ve got to look out for your own sanity and demand to be treated with respect.

I followed these directions, if you have a similar problem you should too.  http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=1e9e6ecc3006e05f&hl=en
